The 5-Ingredient Dumpling Bake I Can’t Stop Making

This 5-Ingredient Dumpling Bake is an easy weeknight meal made with frozen dumplings, creamy peanut butter, soy sauce, spicy chili oil, and fresh greens. Everything bakes together in one dish for a cozy, flavorful dinner with minimal prep.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons peanut butter, chunky or smooth
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce, plus more for serving
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 tablespoon chili oil or the oil from a jar of chili crisp, plus more for serving
  • 1 cup packed baby spinach or arugula
  • 14 to 16 frozen dumplings
  • Thinly sliced scallion, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the peanut butter, soy sauce, hot water, and chili oil until smooth and well combined.
  3. Spread the baby spinach or arugula evenly across the bottom of a baking dish.
  4. Arrange the frozen dumplings in a single layer over the greens.
  5. Pour the peanut butter sauce evenly over the dumplings, making sure the dumplings are well coated.
  6. Cover the baking dish tightly with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and continue baking for 5–8 minutes, until the dumplings are heated through and the sauce is bubbling.
  8. Drizzle with additional chili oil and soy sauce, if desired, and garnish with sliced scallions.
  9. Serve hot, spooning plenty of the spicy peanut sauce over the dumplings and greens.

Notes

  • Use any frozen dumplings you enjoy, including vegetable, chicken, beef, or shrimp dumplings.
  • Check the dumpling package to confirm that the filling is fully cooked or adjust the baking time as needed.
  • For a milder dish, reduce the chili oil or use a mild chili crisp oil.
  • For extra flavor, garnish with toasted sesame seeds, crushed peanuts, or fresh cilantro.
  • Use gluten-free dumplings and tamari instead of soy sauce if needed.
