Ingredients

  • 1 lb linguine pasta, or fettuccine or spaghetti
  • ½–1½ tablespoons red pepper flakes, depending on desired spice level
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ⅓–½ cup toasted sesame oil
  • 1½ teaspoons chili paste
  • 6 tablespoons soy sauce

  • Peanuts, chopped, for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped, for garnish

  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the linguine according to the package directions until tender. Drain well and set aside.

  3. Place the cooked noodles in a large bowl or skillet and pour the spicy sauce over them.
  4. Toss the noodles thoroughly until they are evenly coated with the sauce.
  5. Taste and adjust the spice level by adding more red pepper flakes or Sriracha if desired.
  6. Serve warm or at room temperature and garnish with scallions, carrots, chopped peanuts, cilantro, and sesame seeds.
