Pizza Burgers

Pizza Burgers combine everything you love about a classic burger and cheesy pizza in one easy meal. Juicy seasoned ground beef is topped with pizza sauce, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni, then served on toasted hamburger buns for a fun family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef, 80% lean / 20% fat
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns, split and toasted
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 16–24 slices pepperoni

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) if you plan to melt the cheese under the broiler or in the oven.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until evenly combined.
  3. Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty.
  4. Heat a large skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4–5 minutes per side, or until browned and cooked through.
  5. Place the cooked burgers on a baking sheet. Spoon pizza sauce over each patty and sprinkle evenly with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Arrange 4–6 pepperoni slices on top of each burger.
  7. Broil for 1–2 minutes, watching closely, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Place each pizza burger on a toasted hamburger bun and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use 80/20 ground beef for juicy, flavorful burgers.
  • Do not overmix the ground beef, as this can make the burgers dense.
  • Use your favorite pizza sauce or marinara sauce if preferred.
  • For extra flavor, add sliced mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, or banana peppers.
  • Watch the burgers carefully under the broiler because the cheese and pepperoni can brown quickly.
  • Toast the buns just before serving for the best texture.
