Crispy Chicken Tenders with Honey Mustard Dip Recipe

Crispy Chicken Tenders with Honey Mustard Dip are an easy family-friendly meal made with tender chicken coated in seasoned breadcrumbs and served with a sweet and tangy homemade honey mustard sauce. They are simple to prepare and make a great lunch, dinner, or party appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Set up three shallow bowls. Place the flour in the first bowl. Beat the eggs in the second bowl. In the third bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken tender in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip it into the beaten eggs, then press it into the seasoned breadcrumbs until evenly coated.
  4. Arrange the breaded chicken tenders on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each piece. Lightly spray or brush the tops with oil if desired for extra crispiness.
  5. Bake for 18–22 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. While the chicken cooks, whisk the honey and Dijon mustard together in a small bowl until smooth.
  7. Serve the crispy chicken tenders hot with the honey mustard dip on the side.

Notes

  • For extra-crispy tenders, use panko breadcrumbs instead of regular breadcrumbs.
  • Do not overcrowd the baking sheet so the chicken can crisp evenly.
  • Chicken is safely cooked when the thickest part reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • The honey mustard dip can be prepared ahead and refrigerated for up to 5 days.
  • For a spicier dip, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a little hot sauce.
  • Serve with fries, roasted vegetables, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.
