Burrata Flatbread with Apple, Prosciutto and Honey

These Apple and Burrata Flatbreads combine crisp-tart apple slices, creamy burrata, toasted flatbread, crunchy Marcona almonds, fresh basil, and a drizzle of honey. This easy flatbread makes a beautiful lunch, appetizer, or light dinner with a delicious balance of creamy, crisp, sweet, and savory flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 store-bought flatbreads or naan, toasted
  • 3 ounces prosciutto or other thinly sliced cured meat
  • 1 crisp-tart apple, such as Honeycrisp, thinly sliced
  • Two 4-ounce balls burrata
  • Chopped Marcona almonds, for garnish
  • Fresh basil, for garnish
  • Honey, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Toast the flatbreads or naan until warm and lightly crisp around the edges.
  2. Arrange the toasted flatbreads on serving plates or a large platter.
  3. Layer the thinly sliced apple evenly over the flatbreads.
  4. Add the prosciutto or thinly sliced cured meat, arranging it loosely over the apples.
  5. Break the burrata into pieces and distribute it evenly over both flatbreads.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped Marcona almonds and fresh basil.
  7. Drizzle generously with honey.
  8. Slice into portions and serve immediately while the flatbreads are still warm.

Notes

  • For a pork-free version, replace the prosciutto with thinly sliced beef bresaola, turkey, or another suitable cured meat.
  • Honeycrisp apples work especially well because their crisp texture and tart-sweet flavor balance the creamy burrata.
  • Add the honey just before serving for the best flavor and presentation.
  • For extra flavor, lightly warm the flatbread before assembling.
